In Guatika Biopark you’ll find more than 1000 animals of more than 100 different species. We have big areas, suitable to provide the best welfare to the animals. Their life with us will be beneficial for their phisical and mental health.
We work under the permanent supervision of the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Boyaca -CORPOBOYACA- this entity monitors and guarantees the welfare of the animals under our care.
Special species observation hours
Buffalo, cattle, llamas, horses, and donkeys are only in the park on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. In high season they can be seen in the park every day from 9 a.m. at 4.30 p.m.
The exhibition hours of the jaguars, pumas, bears, tigers and lions are from 10 a.m. and until 4 p.m. every day.
They are species introduced by man in an environment different from that of their country of origin. At Biopark Guátika we house different exotic animals that have come to our facility from circuses or beucause of illegal wildlife trafficking.
They are animals that belong to the native Colombian fauna. Wild animals are not pets, they are species that are not adapted to living with humans and can be carriers of potentially dangerous diseases for humans. The illegal possession of these species is punishable by law in Colombia.
Pets are all the animals that due to genetic selection on individuals have enhanced characteristics of the species that have been beneficial for human beings. In this group we find dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, etc.
